Do-it-yourself home remedies

Here are some Do-it-yourself home remedies. Try them and email me your feedback. Thanks!

1.) Cough and Cold
Simple Cough Syrup:

3 tbsp lemon juice (Or ginger juice)
1 cup honey
1/4 cup warm water
Steps: Combine lemon juice and honey in a bowl. Slowly stir in the water. Store in a covered jar in the refrigerator - take 1-2 tbsp as needed for cough.

In addition to the above mixture, you could also try a steam treatment(for colds).
- Put lavender, eucalyptus, or mint in a medium-sized bowl; use 8 drops if you have essential oil.
- Pour 2 cups of steaming hot water over the herbs or oil.
- Cover your head with a towel, lean over the bowl, and slowly breath in the steam.
- Blow your nose gently as mucus is loosened.
- Continue to breathe steam for about five minutes.

2.) Toothaches
- Ice massage the hand:

Gently rubbing an ice cube in the area between the forefinger and the thumb for several minutes is an effective toothache remedy, as it eases toothache. It acts by overwhelming the pain impulses that usually travel along the nerve pathways.
- Lime:

This rich source of vitamin C prevents tooth decay and also provides toothache pain relief.
- Garlic:

Placing a clove of garlic with little rock salt on the affected tooth helps relieve or even cure the pain.

3.) Depression
Ginkgo biloba helps the brain make certain neurotransmitters, which may alleviate depression. One study has shown a standardized extract was helpful for elderly, depressed persons who also had dementia.

4.) Cuts
Garlic juice applied to infected wounds speeds up healing. The allicin in garlic has been shown to be as effective as a one percent penicillin solution. However, it may cause damage to the skin, so be cautious. Lavender, scented geranium, and rosemary are good antiseptics, too.
5.) Conjunctivitis/Sore eyes
-Tea:

Damp tea bags placed on the eyes can ease the discomfort of sore eye. For this boil the tea bags and let them cool before placing them on the infected eye.
- Honey:

Putting drops of honey mixed in warm water in the affected eye is an effective pink eye remedy. However, be prepared for a little burning discomfort.
- Saltwater:

Cotton balls soaked in boiled saltwater when placed on the eyelids kills the infection.

6.) Frizzy hair
Heat up one cup of olive oil in a glass jar. The temperature should not too hot or too cool.

Apply this mixture throughout all of your hair, evenly distributing it. Then, pin your hair loosely on top of your head with a clip, and cover with a shower cap.

Wrap a hot towel around your head to increase moisture absorption. Then shampoo and rinse your hair after about 10-15 minutes.

If you have extremely dry  and frizzy hair, do this process about three times per week until you notice good results, and then reduce to one time per week.

7.) Hangover
Drink 100% natural coconut water-refreshing and nutritious water from inside a young, green (not brown) coconut.
