Readers' email

Hello everyone, thank you very much for your emails. I have highlighted two questions this week, one is more for students/teens and the other, just about anyone who is familiar with the law of attraction.

Dear Naz,
I am in a dilemma. I have completed my 'O' Levels and am therefore at an important crossroad in my life. I have been accepted into two courses. One is a Diploma in Nursing and another a Diploma in Hospitality. The problem is my parents would like me to take up the Hospitality course as they see a very huge growth in that industry in Singapore over the next few years(with the integrated resorts coming up as well). They do not like me taking up nursing as they few it as a very 'demanding' job with low pay. I would really like to listen to my parents and not have any conflict with them. But at the same time, my heart is really with the nursing course as I have always wanted to be a nurse. Please advise. Thank you.

Laura, student, Singapore

Dear Laura,
The most important question that you have to ask yourself is whether you would be happy in the course that you enrol in. This is because ultimately, you would be the one who would have to attend classes, pass the exams and go through the internship with companies/hospitals. It is a very admirable quality to be obediant ad respectful to your parents' opinion and wishes. But just remember that whatever decision that you make would have a huge impact in your life. If you are not 100% happy with what you are doing, it would affect the quality of your work and the relationship with people around you. If you go with your heart, you would be disappointing your parents initially but perhaps after seeing how passionate you are in nursing, they might respect you for choosing something that you are really passionate about. This would take time of course but if your heart is really in it, I am very confident that you would do very well in the course, which would eventually make your parents very proud of you as well. An alternative would be to take a Diploma in one of the course and then take a general certificate in the other once you have graduated with a Diploma. So you have to really think very carefully abouit your priorities and make a decision. But my advise would be to follow your heart. All the best.

Naz

Dear Naz,
I attended your law of attraction course in April. It was great! You are a really wonderful Trainer. I have learnt a lot and there has been amazing improvement in my life. Thank you very much for your clear instructions. But I would like to seek your clarification in something. When we are visualizing, you mention that we have to be in a relaxed state in order to really get the most out of the process. But when I visualize all the great things that I have achieved, I get really excited and my breathing goes back to being 'shallow', in order words, not the belly breathing that you have taught. Should I then stop visualizing and start breathing deeply and slowly or should i continue with the visualization? Many thanks.

Christopher, Civil Servant, Singapore

Dear Christopher,
Thank you for your kind words! It always makes my day to hear such nice words from clients. Ok, if you start to get excited, it means that you are really very good at visualizing in that you are making use of all the senses(a great way to speed up results!). In such case, it is alright, just carry on visualizing and not worry about the breathing patterns. Once you have completed visualizing what you have planned to visualize, then before ending your session and saying the affirmations, do a few belly breathes to end the session. So in your case, the belly breathing is like a 'warm up' and 'cool down' exercise in between your visualization. I do hope that you continue to live your dreams. All the best!

Naz
