Tips for using self hypnosis to improve your life


First of all, understand that one cannot hypnotize anyone who is not willing to be hypnotized. On television, you always see hypnosis working so well on stage. That is because the audience is voluntary. In other words, they agreed to take part in the exercise. At any time, they can choose to walk off the stage if they want to, just like anyone who visits a hypnotherapist seeking professional help. So, one will never reveal anything one does not want to reveal during a session.

Hypnotherapy can be a powerful method that can help people in many ways such as:
- Curing addictions (gambling, internet, alcohol etc)
- Physical problems (backache, headaches etc)
- Improving sports performace
- Psychological problems (Obsessive compulsive disorder, anxiety attacks, sleep disorders etc)


To begin self hypnosis, you will want to find a quiet, warm, comfortable place to sit. Closing your eyes, you will begin to envision waves of warm ocean water flowing over your head to your shoulders, then from your shoulders to your arms and midsection, followed by the torso and the legs, until the entire body feels blissfully engulfed by ocean waves.

Here are some very important tips to make sure that you get the most from your self hypnosis session:
1.) Be relaxed
Always make sure that you spend 5-10 minutes relaxing. You may do this by doing deep belly breathing or listening to soothing music or both. Remember, deep and slow breaths.

2.) Repeat hypnotic suggestions frequently to maximize effect
For example, if you are planning to cure your smoking addiction, just say to yourself, 'I feel great and happy doing exercises instead of smoking', or ' I am happy to refuse a cigarette'. Try to make your suggestions short as it would be more easily accepted by the subconscious mind as compared to a long affirmation(positive statement).

3.)Use visualizations
See yourself after the change has occurred (or as the change is occurring). Remember, whatever the mind can visualize, it can actualize. Try to see clear and colour images but if you can't, just visualize however you can and you'll get better at it as you practice.
